Problem of radio range

Problem of range radio devices

The radio range is the main challenge of wireless devices, which operate at 868 MHz, especially in buildings where the walls are important.

To confirm that this is a problem of scope, you can bring the devices of the plant. If the device works again, it is certainly scope to that device.

The best radio paths are recalculated daily. If you move a device, we recommend waiting 24 hours or 48 hours before you worry about the scope.

In all cases, we recommend that you let the system run for at least 24 hours during the first installation.

  • Typical range radio devices is 30m. The range may be smaller in case of obstacles (mostly concrete bearing walls, etc. ..).
  • The housing must be positioned correctly (including the USB dongle must be fairly well identified with its extension).
  • The general rule in cases of wide problem is the addition of outlets (pull plug adapters). Although they serve no other, these jacks are used to relay the most remote devices to carry a signal. Warning to leave all your plugs connected always!
  • If the problem occurs after a successful installation, before suspecting the scope, it can be a problem of low battery (check the batteries last value was well above 50% ("High"), or 80 % for some devices very sensitive to voltage drops).

If these solutions do not work, you can either install an additional central housing or apply for a study to measure.

Problem of range of an IP camera (wifi)

  • If you are unable to access a wifi camera, it can be a problem of scope.
  • Move the camera a few inches, or change the direction of the antenna (to be perpendicular to the target direction).

Malfunction of a device (excluding radio)


Taken with the drive come with a standard fuse, accessible through a small hatch (spare fuse is available in the hatch). In case of malfunction of a decision, you should disconnect / reconnect (or to turn OFF and ON).

Motion Detector

The first cause of misunderstanding is related to the timing of the motion detection technology or PIR.

Detector technology PIR (Passive Infra Red) is sensitive to movements of warm bodies, but also to sunlight rapidly varying (moving cloud with the wind), with outbreaks of radiators, and of course hot animals (mammals, birds ) or electromagnetic interference. This technology is more sensitive than the opening sensors.

A packet radio can also be lost, forgetting to report a beginning or an end of movement.

When the battery level is too low, the device stops, but also make little packets of false detection.

The battery level is indicated by a small icon. After changing batteries, the battery level is not updated immediately on the website (wait 6 hours). Note that some devices do not send quite correctly their level of batteries, including "end cell".

Smoke Detector

The inclusion button (called "binding") smoke detector (Everspring SF812) can be quite difficult to engage. Press 3 times, and strong enough not too quickly.


In case of problems, disconnect / reconnect the camera (this can happen following facilities in the event of disrupted wifi network). If this occurs, install an outlet controlled (by ON / OFF and not drive) to switch off / turn on the camera.

Installation Issues

Connecting the Central

When connecting, the lights should light inside the box. If no light comes on, it's probably a lack of connection. Check the output voltage of the AC adapter.

Adding a radio device

If the inclusion of a radio device does not work, despite being very close (50cm), start by excluding it from the network and then try to include it again.

Problem of display on a smartphone

Try the site on a computer (to check your credentials).

Then try your mobile. Make sure the javascript and cookies are allowed.

A problem communicating with a camera (not wifi)

The first action is to electrically reconnect the camera. You can use the UPnP broadcast on your computer to find the camera.

  • If you use the CPL, ensured that LC are within reach.
  • If you use an injector CPL: check that the 2 LED (AC and PORT) are lit on the injectors Axis PoE Midspan 1-Port.

General problems

My lamp does not light up

The failure may be localized to multiple locations:

  • Is a switch, upstream of the outlet, is cut
  • Either the EXT receives more orders radios (the web interface informs, and the LED on the plug will not turn on / turn off), or the EXT receives the orders, but it does not work
  • Is a switch, downstream of the outlet, is cut
  • Either the bulb is burned out (this also happens ...)

Try deleting the EXT by plugging the lamp directly, to see if the EXT is involved. If the EXT is involved, see paragraph ad hoc on the problem of a device.
