Getting started

To begin, users need to connect the eedomus box , create an account on the eedomus web (https://secure.eedomus.com), and then add some devices. We recommend users to start with lighting, one of the most simplest areas.

User interfaces

Prior to personalising your system with programmes, it is helpful to become familiar with the system interfaces, beginning with the Eedomus portal.

You can then install the eedomus application on your smartphone : iOS App, Android App, or Windows App.

Next, add some devices (lighting for example), and then checking that your portal and smartphone applications are in sync.

We recommend organizing your devices by their respective rooms and spaces.

Programming

Automation is the key to unlocking the power of your eedomus smart home system. By utilizing the preprogrammed functions, or a personalised script or rule, you can create the customised programming that you desire.

There are many to choose from. We suggest beginning with simple tasks, such as turning lights at the end of the day (evening lighting).

The existing automated programs will automatically appear in the panel "Programming" (available in website and on Smartphone Applications), where you can easily activate or deactivate each program by one click.

After a few days, you should have a good grasp of the functions, and then be ready for more programming to meet your needs.

If you wish to go further, you can choose Expert Mode to add advanced features.

Some common customisations

eedomus box sound level

Your eedomus box is equipped with an internal speaker system that provides audio alerts and other information according to your programming.

In order to turn the sound on/off or adjust the volume of your eedomus box you must first create a device:

Click on System Configuration / Add or remove a device / Other devices / Add another type of device / eedomus plus / Volume , then click on create.
Under Device configuration, you can customise the name (default is Volume), and then select the room of the device. We suggest adding a room and calling it "eedomus box", this will provide a dedicated widget on the portal Home page. Click on save.
The setup is complete and you can now control volume of your eedomus box from the portal Home page, by selecting the widget and clicking the Volume icon.

eedomus box LED light

Click on System Configuration in the upper right, and then select eedomus controller / Configure.
Select Shutoff the LED, and Save.
Note, the LED will still be used when booting the system or to indicate errors, but it will be turned off during normal operations.

Sensor parameters

Z-Wave devices are highly customisable, one of the most common is controlling the device LED mode (e.g. active or inactive, or colour of light).

This advanced configuration is achieved by communicating to the Z-Wave device via commands, see Radio Parameters.

Click on System Configuration and select your desired Z-Wave device, then click on Configure. Choose the Z-Wave parameters tab.
Under Command Class, the COMMAND_CLASS_CONFIGURATION allows the reading or writing of device parameters.
You can query your device for a particular parameter sending the command CONFIGURATION_GET.
Choosing CONFIGURATION_SET allows you to determine the parameter value, see your Z-Wave device operating manual for details of the parameters and value options.

User management

You can multiple users to your account, thereby extending the control of eedomus to your family and friends.

Completing your system

Most users complete their system with only a few number of devices. Later, they may extend their system with additional features, devices, and/or sensors as they desire.

It is important to verify your system on a regular basis, in particular paying attention to change device batteries and connectivity.
